Herbicide resistance can be prevented if proactive weed management practices are implemented effectively.

It is possible to use Rinkor鈩 twice per season.

  • The two applications per season are typically required for controlling Echinochloa spp and Schoenoplectus mucronatus (annual from seeds); however, this can also be useful to control other weeds that may have new germination after the first application, especially when it is applied in pre-planting of rice (example in the case of Loyant鈩).
  • In case of two applications per season, an interval of 10-20 days is required between the two applications in post-emergence. If applied twice with Loyant鈩 (straight Rinskor鈩 formulation), one of the application has to be made in mixture with another herbicide with different mode of action effective against Echinochloa.

Rinskor鈩 formulations should be used as part of a weed management program that includes different herbicide modes of action in sequential, tank mix, or ready-to-use formulations. Best resistance management practices include, but are not limited to, field scouting, use of weed-free crop seed, proper water management, correct weed identification, following rotational practices outlined on pesticide labels (for example, crop rotation, herbicide rotation, etc.), and treating when target weed populations are at the correct stage and economic thresholds for control.
